5 Best Supplies for a Quick RV Repair.

Last updated: 10 October 2023

When you’re heading out on the road in your motorhome, travel trailer, or camper, you always wants to make sure you’re prepared for unforeseen circumstances. Breakdowns happen and when they do, you want to be prepared. Here are five items you should definitely keep in your RV for those quick repairs on the road:

1) WD-40
The magical lifeblood of any seasoned mechanic: WD-40! Not only is WD-40 an effective corrosion inhibitor, meaning it naturally shields against moisture and protects your RV from water damage, it’s also the very best lube on the market. If anything gets stuck, WD-40 should be your answer.

2) Roof Sealant
If your RV happens to spring a leak while you’re venturing through this fine continent of ours, you’ll want to repair it immediately. Leaving a leak will only lead to more extensive damage down the road. There’s nothing pretty (or cheap) about water damage. Adding a roof sealant to your repertoire will ensure you’re able to hop on those repairs quickly and reduce the risk of further damage.

3) Tool Kit
It feels like a no-brainer, but having some tools on hand, even if it’s just a foldable Leatherman, is a good idea when you’re travelling in an RV. Sometimes things need to be tightened and/or loosened. The best way to be prepared is to make sure you have a small toolkit with you.

4) Spare Tire
Blown tires are a fact of the road and at some point it’s going to happen. There’s never any way to be fully prepared for a flat tire, but having a spare handy means you’ll at least have a little peace of mind when you need to do a quick tire change and get to the nearest service station.

5) Duct Tape
The final item on our list is the very foundation of all repairs (outside of hitting things with a hammer). Duct tape is great for minor temporary repairs and can sometimes get you those last much-needed miles to the next service station. Obviously we don’t recommend using it for anything serious and it’s certainly not a permanent fix, but it’s still magical stuff!

When you buy your RV from Mike Rosman RV, you instantly become a part of the RV Care network. The network spreads to dealerships all across Canada and the US and what it means is that you’ll receive the same great service no matter where you are. It still helps to have the above items in case of emergencies though. Better safe than sorry 😉
